Break the cycle of reoffending for young people
Around 70% of all young men who leave prison are reconvicted within two years. This is a tragedy, both for society as a whole and for the young people themselves.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is an incredibly effective and cost-efficient way of helping young people break this cycle of re-offending. Our research finds a 75% reduction in reoffending rates among young people who take part and huge improvements in skills and attitudes.
This project will help more young people in prison to benefit from our programmes. It will also help those being released from prison to stay committed to the Award during their transition to normal life thereby greatly reducing reoffending and helping young people succeed.
