Reaching millions with Christian literature

Thousands of refugees have arrived on European shores searching for a place of safety and somewhere to start rebuilding their lives, we feel the burden to reach out to them with the Word of God and therefore translate the Christian literature we have into Arabic.

  • Need

    Need

In many parts of the world the Christian church is growing at a tremendous rate, yet at the same time there’s a huge lack of Bibles and other tools for evangelism and discipleship. MediaServe wants to help front-line churches to be more effective in their ministry. In many places people to do not readily have access to a Bible or study material nor can they afford such books. These booklets and Bibles are given out at no cost to those who need them.

    Solution

The material produced is culturally relevant, unique and upfront about what the Bible says. The booklets are aimed at different age groups like the comic book version of the Gospel of Mark (The King) is aimed at children and teens. The Gate to Life booklet is a discipleship tool written to equip and strengthen pastors and their churches. Its a Bible course for new believers. This material has five lessons and is excellent for helping seekers or new believers grasp essential Biblical truths.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

Produce literature to take Christianity to Arabic groups in the UK, Middle East and refugee camps.

    Activities

» Translate and print literature explaining about Christianity and how a person can have a personal relationship with God.

There needs to be accountability for the booklets distributed, so we always request testimonies from our local partners and in this way, are able to measure the success and impact

    Aim 2

Distribute the literature to churches and other partners who work in these areas.

    Activities

» Send out a letter with a sample of the literature.

By the feedback we receive from churches and partners, how many booklets do they need

  • Impact

    Impact

We pray and hope that the impact of the Word of God will make a change in the person who receives these booklets and studies them. The booklets are distributed to churches so the churches will follow up and connect with those who receive the literature and explain further how one can enter into a relationship with God.

    Risk

The risks are not many in the UK unless the translator is not suitable and therefore creating a delay with the rest of the project, we would need to appoint a new translator. Shipping could be a risk but this is covered with insurance. The main risk is getting the books into the Middle East as Christianity is frowned upon there and lives can be lost because of this. One way is to get the books in in very small numbers therefore reducing the risks involved.

    Reporting

Donors to this project will receive a newsletter every 3 months by email on this and other ongoing projects detailing the activities and outcome of these projects.

  • Background

    Location

There are approximately 500,000 Arabic speakers in the UK alone. In 2016 30,603 people applied for asylum the majority being Arabic speakers. Many churches work alongside these seekers, helping with humanitarian aid but also spiritual aid. Many come into our country with almost nothing and our aim is to impart hope in their lives through the Word of God.

    Beneficiaries

Those who will benefit are those who receive the Word of God and consequently welcome Jesus into their lives.
