Social Isolation & Loneliness
We will celebrate age and all that comes with it through ART, tea and cake. It will give people a regular opportunity to escape the loneliness they suffer and be in the company of others. Not only will they learn new skills through the project but enjoy the therapeutic benefits of art.
Social inclusion will come with confidence and feeling part of the community again.
To reduce loneliness and social isolation.
Activities» Run 'The ART of Age' group for 2 hours a week in our community art gallery.
What success will look like
Success will be regular attendance to our group and improved wellbeing in our participants.
Long term changes: the project will reduce the number of elderly people who are suffering from loneliness in the local community.
We will measure this through wellbeing assessments after 6 months and again at 12 months.
Success will be if those engaged in the project report an improved sense of wellbeing.
The risk would be no one engaging in this project but we have good community links and will promote the project via Age UK and the Royal British Legion. We will also distribute leaflets throughout the community.
We have also run an unfunded trial project called Lily's Lounge which has been successful.
Our donors can follow progress on projects through our social media and website. We will also put together an evaluation report.
