Project information

Rippledown Sustainable Skills Centre

An innovative sustainable skills centre. A new educational resource to the local and Kent community and a leading icon in ‘green’ construction.

The building will be unique in design and incorporate latest knowledge and technology in ‘eco-construction’, replacing bricks and cement with straw bales and chalk lime render. Its ecological sensitivity will mean that the building will minimise any negative impact on the environment, and thus preserving the natural beauty of the Kent countryside.

It will be based in the grounds of the existing environmental education centre at Ringwould near Deal, and be used to compliment and expand the current environmental and sustainable skills programmes at Rippledown, as well as provide a great venue for guest speakers and community use.
