Polio FC Minibus Project
Polio FC were formed in 2009, from strong and talented young Polio survivors living rough in Sierra Leone.
Polio FC's mission is to win matches. For the love of football and to change attitudes to disabled people in SL.
Polio FC need a minibus. Help us raise £6k to get the team around the country!
July 2017 - December 2018
Charity information: FAITH2SHARE
Polio FC need to get around.
The team survives and pays the rent and food out of the coach's canny trading abilities. A minibus would help him trade more goods to feed and house more players.
Further, public transport is expensive, and people often discriminate against disabled people on journeys.
By buying a minibus.
We'll get all the money ready (the team have difficulty registering for a bank account), transfer it to a Bishop in Freetown, and he'll buy the minibus and provide proof of the transaction.

Activities» Fundraising for the minibus (this is done for free by Tom)
» Ensuring that Polio FC get a good deal on the minibus, and that the right amount of money passes through the right hands.
» Checking up on Polio FC and their minibus, hopefully being able to help out with maintenance costs over the long term.
What success will look like
A picture of Polio FC with the minibus. A picture of the reciept. A picture of Polio FC travelling to a match in the minibus. A testimonial from coach Vidal and one or two players.
The perceptions of Sierra Leone public towards people with physical disabilities.
This is demonstrated to any fan who is able to go and watch them play!
Lack of generosity
We'll tell people how we're getting on with fundraising, and we'll get in touch with people once to let them know we've managed to get the minibus, and once again in a year or two to let them know how the team are getting on.
