  • Need

    Need

Being a very rural area Barnoldswick and Earby towns, are quite some travelling distance from most large hospitals, clinics etc,. the people we support who are suffering from cancer and their families find it most difficult to access information about any help the may require, or indeed to contact those who can help on a one to one basis.

    Solution

Our project aims to provide a central meeting place for those who wish to access relevant information. also a chance to meet those who are going through the same journey. We aim to provide meeting rooms, and alternative therapies. Peer support meetings, and social evenings, coffee mornings etc. we aim to make our project a centre of excellence for local cancer sufferers, their families and friends, without the need of travelling any distance other than local .

  • Aims

    Activities

The success of this aim will be demonstrated by those in our community who have the benefit of the centre for information, therapies, social gatherings.

  • Impact

    Impact

The long term changes we envisage will be the ease of access for all cancer patients in our area to have a central area for ongoing community support, for themselves and their families. This will be demonstrated as it has been in the past by the growing number of people our group will be able to help through ease of access for the cancer sufferers and our volunteers

    Risk

We envisage no foreseeable risk. Our group has had excellent support from all of the Barnoldswick and Earby community, .
Our group is on a sound financial footing with our charity shop supplying the funds which enables us to support local cancer sufferers. there is no paid posts in our group, everyone is a volunteer.

    Reporting

At present we thank, and report to most donors by sending personal letters of acknowledgement and thanks. We also report any fundraising efforts through our web site or Facebook page .
