Cementing the Future

In order to create a stable foundation for the Phoenix Trust we are raising money for new equipment and building improvements in the factory. This allows us to provide the best possible service to our trainees.

  • Need

Our machinery has got old and tired. A lot of our moulds are broken after years of hard service. Sections of the factory are in need of repair or improvement.

Allow us to replace and update machinery, buy new mould stock and repair and improve the factory area in general.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

Replace the old vibrating table and pallet trucks.

» Raise awareness onsite, in the local area and in our social media.

    What success will look like

Replacing these will allow more trainees to take part in more work in the factory; jobs that are currently too difficult to allow their full participation will be achieveable

    Aim 2

Buy new moulds to replace broken ones and expland our range.

» Raise awareness onsite, in the local area and in our social media.
» Make and sell some bespoke paving with specialist inserts and moulding.

    What success will look like

We will be able to continue to make paving slabs, trainees will be able to continue to learn a wide variety of skills in a real work setting.

    Aim 3

Repair the walling, level the floor, and add a ceiling.

» Raise awareness onsite, in the local area and in our social media.

    What success will look like

The factory building will be significantly improved; it will allow the factory to be used during a wider range of weather conditions.

  • Impact

The project will revitalise the factory, allowing us to continue to provide training in manufacturing to young people and adults with special educational needs. The factory will be able to accomodate more trainees with a wider range of needs. We will be able to produce more, and of a better quality, taking us a step closer to self sustainability.
We will have more trainees and income from the factory will increase.

Lack of funding. We have a wide range of goals for improving the factory so we can move ahead with incremental targets, like improving mould stock and replacing machinery. We can also section off improvements in the building (repairing one section of wall at a time) rather than having to collect a large lump sum before work can commence.

We will report our progress on social media, our website and on site.
