Project information
Sponsor a brick appeal for a new Burgess House
The idea is to build a new Burgess House that's similar to a hotel that people will want to stay time and time again.
We need to raise £1k to do this so sponsor a brick and have you name recognised on our honours board.
We aim to complete within two years from now

Need
Need
We are trying many fund raising ideas to raise the funds but its slow going despite fund raising every weekend.
We need someone to come up with really good bright ideas that will have a huge impact on the community and help us on our way to achieving our goal.
The new build is important because without it all the years of hard work and support by many dedicated parents will be lost because the old building is looking tired and not very inviting.Solution
The old build is very tired and no longer inviting. A new build will be more like a hotel, bright and spacious.
There will be sensory, games, social, and craft rooms on site for people to enjoy on their own or with friends.
In turn we are hoping this will encourage more younger people to benefit from a stay which will give parents a vital break from their role in caring. -
Aims
Aim 1
Aim No 1 is to achieve our goal of raising the money required to see the project through
Activities
» Hold regular car boots sales. Selling goods donated by local people. Charging to set up a stall on site.
» Regular coffee mornings and raffle. Encouraging people to join us for a couple of hours. Selling cakes & smaller items of bric a brac
» Fun days. Selling stalls to people. Doing a raffle. Selling donated items.
What success will look like
We will keep people informed of our achievements via our newsletter and web pages and the press whilst at the same time giving people the opportunity to continue donating.
Aim 2
no 2 is to get the project off the ground and see it though to the end. Having a great opening day.
Activities
» We are looking to local companies to support us and have ideas of some fund raising activities to help us achieve our goal.
What success will look like
By working closely with our project managers to ensure everything is done well and kept on track. At the end of the project we will invite people along to the official opening

Impact
Impact
Respite supports parents to have a break from their role of caring. The present building is no longer suitable for some clients as there are no lifts. The building is old so the new project will cater for all needs, be on one level with state of the art equipment to make easier. It will be wheelchair friendly and with special areas for medication.
It would lighten the load on staff, parents and the guests themselves and bring about a happier atmosphere all round.Risk
The risks are simple. Without the new project the old building would become obsolete and parents would suffer under the strain of caring. Everyone is entitled to a break once in a while so why should parents of a disabled child/young adult be any different. We are trying our best to keep staff happy and continue to support parents.
Reporting
Report will be made through our regular newsletters, through the press and on our website. All donations received will be acknowledged by letter.
