The Progression Project
The Progression Project offers a Level 1 qualification in youth work to post 16s wishing to develop their skills while helping to organise and run activities with young people at the Tanyard, supported by employment champions and peer mentors.

Charity information: The Tanyard Youth Project
Reducing the number of young people who are Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET).
By providing employability skills, a level one qualification and work experience, young people will be better prepared to find a job.
To provide work experience
Activities» On the job training in youth work while supporting children and young people in their leisure time.
What success will look like
Young people progress into full or part time paid work.
Young people's aspirations begin to rise as a result of work experience and support into jobs.
This will be measured through regular youth consultations.
Limited number of applicants to the project at present.
Partnerships with referring organisations are helping to lift numbers. New partnerships are being formed.

The project is situated in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire and serves an area that is high on the Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivations.
250+ children and young people aged 10 to 18 are members of the Youth Project and will benefit from other young people aged 16+ learning to support them and run activities with them.
Learners aged 16+ on the project will gain qualifications and work experience.
Our dedicated staff create a wonderful atmosphere of fun and creativity five evenings per week, and are always available to provide support and advice where it is needed. Dealing with everything from bruises and boyfriend trouble to self harm and suicide, our team of youth workers has a wealth of talent, experience and commitment to the young people we support.
