Pop-Up Classrooms

We want to provide the basics for children of Persian-speaking families (Afghan/Iranian/Tajik origins) in UK to have access to proper educational activities and nutrition during the school holidays in October and February when parents often work and children are left on their own.

September 2017 - March 2018

  • Need

    Need

Children of lower income families are often reliant on school-based education and diet. However, during the school breaks, children are often left on their own as parents continue to work. They are often left with no care-givers, educational activities and proper meals. Children of Persian-speaking backgrounds are no different. However, there are no organisations that focus on their education and care during term breaks.

    Solution

Persia Educational Foundation has a number of consultants with experience in community-based education and Montessori schools who are well-positioned to run week-long educational camps for children. Persia is also in a position to train teens and youth in helping with the education of children. The combination of these two lines of activity can lead to a sustainable model of education and care for children during school/term breaks.
