  • Need

All-Aboard strives to make it possible for everyone in the community to join in a range of watersports and water related activities in Bristol Docks.  This includes people of all ages with physical, emotional or cognitive disabilities or infirmities who would otherwise feel unable to participate.  We work with individuals, groups, schools, charities and healthcare providers. Our problem is that our disabled changing facilities are out of date and inadequate - and we'd like to solve that problem.

By taking part in the Eddystone Challenge, we hope to raise funds to enable us to redevelop and enhance our disabled shower and changing facilities at the centre. The majority of the crew for the race will be novice, inexperience sailors, many of whom have never sailed on a 'big boat', let alone outside of the floating harbour.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

Redevelop and enhance our disabled shower & changing facilities.

» Novice crew of sailors to complete the 26 mile Eddystone Pursuit Race in June 2017.

    What success will look like

Provision of fit for purpose, modern accessible changing and shower facilities available to our customers.

  • Impact

Our current changing facilities are not in a good state of repair, and there is no hoist or changing table for those with significant mobility impairments. The new facilities will enable all of our customers to shower and change comfortably, and with dignity.

Not raising enough funding. We will submit grant applications in addition to this fundraising project to ensure we do raise enough for the work (circa £10k).

We will update donors via email, our website, social media and The Big Give.
