Project information

March 2017 - September 2017
Charity information: Bollington And Macclesfield Unit Of The Sea Cadet Corps

Need
Need
Although the Unit currently owns a building (in need of refurbishment) on the banks of the Macclesfield Canal it is not suitable for use as a Unit HQ and as a result the Cadets currently meet in a local school for training (annual rent £5K). The amount of space available to the Unit in the school is limited and as a result the Unit is restricted in the type of training it can deliver. The long term viability is of concern as the Unit is only on a terms notice.
Solution
The project will establish a permanent purpose built Unit HQ on the site of the building that is located on the banks of the Macclesfield Canal. This will: provide long term security, allow the Unit to take on more Cadets and Volunteers, and will also provide a secure space to store a considerable range of valuable equipment.
