Children at Christmas

Need
Need
Circle support families suffering complex traumas rooted in poverty all year round. At Christmas time social pressure adds stress to families who find it difficult to heat their homes, feed their families and make Christmas a happy time. With your support we can take some of the pressure off by helping families with food hampers with a festive twist and in some cases even help with children's gifts.
Solution
By supporting families with extra food, tasty festive treats either as hampers or vouchers and appropriate gifts for children at this time of year, families can focus on the occasion and hopefully even have time to make some positive memories. The stress of Christmas is hard to avoid and Circle would like to be able to help families through this so that they can build on the strengths positive memories endorse.

Aims
Aim 1
To support families with children living in poverty with the cost of Christmas
Activities
» We will purchase festive hampers or supermarket vouchers to donate to the families most in need.
Families will be able to enjoy Christmas more knowing that certain costs have been alleviated. We will ask families what would be most helpful and respond to this need.

Impact
Impact
Families will have a chance to enjoy certain aspects of the Festive season and hopefully come together under less financial pressure to enjoy being a family. This will be demonstrated by families spending time together and building memories around Christmas, buying food together, enjoying food together and hopefully spending time together.
In January we will ask families if the support of the Children at Christmas campaign helped them and how.Risk
Circle have been working with families affected by poverty since the 1970's. We are aware that not all families are open to this kind of support so we would make sure that all families know the opportunity exists to receive some extra help either by way of a hamper or vouchers. Due to the nature of our family support workers relationships with families we do not consider this project to present any risks and we will deal with each family on an individual basis.
Reporting
We will report to donors once we have ascertained the reflections of the families after Christmas and again through our annual review.
