New Disaster Appeal for Baglung, Nepal
Floods and landslides have demolished 116 homes and badly damaged 145 more in remote villages in Baglung District, western Nepal.
They urgently need temporary shelter, clothing, cooking utensils, and road and building reconstruction.

Homeless people need shelter.
They need clothing.
Bedding is required.
Roads and irrigation canals need repairing.
Remote rural villages devastated by floods and landslides in a country which is just beginning to recover from earthquakes in 2015.
Resolve International has worked in Baglung District for ten years, we have trusted NGO partners which are involved in the recovery work. They will distribute aid to the stricken families. Temporary shelters will be erected. Longer term reconstruction will start for irrigation canals, bridges and homes

We will provide reports with photographs of the aid being delivered to the beneficiaries, and of the reconstruction work.
This is an emergency situation, but long term we will provide the security of homes to the homeless and allow families to return to their normal subsistence agriculture.
Our partners are conducting risk assessments in cooperation with local government offices and will employ measures to mitigate the risks.

These are remote villages in the hills of Baglung District in Western Nepal.
The villages are reached by foot or four wheel drive along muddy tracks up steep hills off the main highway.
Baglung is 274 kms from the capital kathmandu and south of the Annapurna mountains.
The people who will benefit are mainly subsistence farmers who have lost their homes and everything in them. Farm land has also been damaged
Resolve International has worked with local NGO partners in Baglung District for ten years. We have local contacts and local knowledge.
Our partners have networks of volunteers in villages and are able to establish resource centers for distribution of aid.
