Chat and Play

Chat and Play is designed to be a peer support group for men aged 50 and over who have been made redundant or retired. Men often lose self confidence and self esteem when they leave work and suffer from social isolation often leading to a loss of physical and mental wellbeing

    » Form a weekly meeting group in our volunteer centre supported by staff and volunteers. The group should evolve to form its own social groups

    By the number of group members and if it evolves to eventually run itself

    Members will start giving back to our community by volunteering themselves

    Risk

    That we do not reach our target audience. However, we have experience of successfully running Big Lottery projects and we would be confident of doing this

    We are the central hub for all charitable activities in New Mills and district. We have 550 clients and 200 volunteers out of a total population of 34000
