The problems we have in Bolton are that.....
*that disabled/older people centres are shutting due to the council saving money and there is nothing replacing them so the disabled/older people end up staying at home.
*the luncheon clubs and social clubs are shutting as well as the funding which use to be there as gone
*feeling isolated and feeling nobody cares
*the family carers feeling run down as not having a break from caring and feeling they have no where to turn to
We have an allotment where we will have activities for the over 50s…..
*Planting, sowing, growing, harvesting food. *growing flowers to make hanging baskets
*cooking with the food what has been grown, eating it and take it home *trips out to garden centres etc
*we also have therapy geese where sessions with them will leave disabled/older people with less stress and calm/happy
- we will have on the allotment young people who do their work experience/volunteer to help out to make this a success
For the disabled/older people to have less isolation and to be part of the community
