January 2017 - September 2017
One of the greatest challenges facing the borough of Hackney is poverty and disadvantage caused by uneducated adults unable to secure jobs & a decent income. We aim to break this poverty by providing disadvantaged YP at risk of NEET, with training towards employment.
In addition children in Hackney often receive little/no support from their parents towards school work, due to large families and poorly educated parents. This puts a strain on a child's education & makes them less able to achieve.
This project will enable YP to gain training and certificates in special education, volunteer training, childcare, teaching methods & safeguarding; furthering employment possibilities, reducing poverty and boosting confidence whilst providing vital skills to deal with children.
It will also further the education of the beneficiaries who will receive support with their studies.
There will be lasting sustainability in jobs, accreditation & volunteering opportunities created by this project.

This project will increase the employment possibilities of disadvantaged YP at risk of NEET by providing them with training towards employment and teaching. It will also improve the education of school children and level of volunteering within our community by enabling YP to mentor children.
These changes will be monitored by noting the effect this has on YP employment numbers and receiving feedback from schools rating the difference this project made on the youngsters educational attainment.
There is a risk of YP and children's safety, therefore all tutors will have a current DBS check and any YP working with children will also be subject to a DBS check and safeguarding training.
In addition there is a risk that we may not find candidates to be mentored, therefore our administrator will liaise with local schools to receive a list of potential beneficiaries.
