Dads and Lads
Give boys of disadvantaged families a chance to enjoy educational and recreational activities, together with their dads, thus boosting their confidence and strengthening their relationships.
May 2017 - April 2018
Ovos Ubonim/yagdil Torah
Most of these children come from large, disadvantaged families, where fathers and often mothers too, work hard on a low income to provide for their growing families. These children get very little one-to-one attention from their fathers who are at work most of the day. These sessions and our planned trip will give them undivided attention in a relaxed and fun atmosphere, with their overworked dads, an opportunity they would otherwise not have had.
Dads and Lads ' will give fathers and sons a chance to develop their confidence in social situations. This will result in them being more interested and active in their local community.
'Dads and Lads' will be an opportunity for diverse adults and children within the community to feel accepted and safe, and make new friends.
It will allow them to relax and engage in leisurely, stress-busting activities. As a result of this, both fathers and children will feel rejuvenated and function better.
