Time to make a difference - Nursing Care
The nursing care we provide at Haven House gives our families time. Time for children to play and socialise with other children. Time for parents and siblings to rest, spend time with friends and family. A break from 24/7 caring responsibilities is essential for health and wellbeing.
Haven House Children's Hospice
Parents and carers do an incredible job looking after their children but can not do it alone - they need help. Life limited and life threatened children have a wide range of needs; which can be medical, help with day to day activities, or recreational. Research has shown that there are over 2000 children in our catchment area that could benefit from our services. Working with other local groups, both voluntary and statutory, we can ensure that we reach as many of these children as possible.
Haven House Children's Hospice offers a number of unique services designed to make the lives of our children better and happier. Our care is holistic - we treat each child differently as we recognise that each child has very unique needs. As a result each child has an individually tailored nursing care plan to make sure they receive the best possible care. There is an increasing demand for our expertise, and in order to expand we need fund the cost of more nurses.

Children and families rely on our services. Our vision is to help to provide the best possible life for every baby, child and young person with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition and their families who live in our local communities.
A lack of funding would prohibit us from offering nursing care to as many children and families as we would like.
Our fundraising team work across our catchment area and beyond to maximise our voluntary income to mitigate this risk.
Donors will receive regular emails and quarterly newsletters which will document key developments regarding our work. They will also be able to visit the hospice for tours and events. They will be able to keep up to date with activities by following us on our website and on social media sites.

The hospice is located at the White House in Waltham Forest. The house was built in 1906 and is located in a woodland setting on the edge of Epping Forest. We provide specialist care for children and young people from birth to age 19 who have life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and who are unlikely to reach adulthood. We also provide a range of support to families; including day, short break and end-of-life care, as well a number of services designed to improve emotional wellbeing.
Our children and families are from the following areas:
Eleven North and East London Boroughs, East Hertfordshire and West Essex.
Many of the children that use Haven House are from socially deprived areas.
We are experts in delivering care for life limited and life threatened children and their families. Since opening in 2003, we have grown, developed and honed our services by working closely with professionals and stakeholders. We listen to families to better understand their needs. We are well established as a centre of excellence in the local community and enjoy excellent links with hospitals and other organisations. Funding will help us do offer more nursing care to children and families.
