Saving the world's most useful plants

Globally, one in five plants are at risk of extinction. Kew's useful plants project protects those plants that are of most use as food, clothing, materials and livestock feed by collecting and storing their seeds in the Millennium Seed Bank: the world's greatest biodiversity conservation programme.

This project is ongoing until all the world's most precious plants have been saved.
