Ngala Primary School teacher's house
Ngala, a small village in Central Malawi, has a pupil teacher ratio of 111:1! It desperately needs another teacher's house so that the government will employ another teacher... but the community, mostly subsistence farmers, can't afford the roofing tin, cement, doors, windows needed.
June 2016 - July 2017
Malawi Education Link(MEL)
The Ngala community has already made the bricks for their teacher's house. They can bring in the sand and water, the village builders are on standby, but money for cement, roofing tin, windows & doors is non-existent in a subsistence farming community.
By helping this community build a teacher's house, the government will fulfil their obligation to employ and pay a teacher to work in the school.
