Summer Splash 2!
Following our massive success last year we plan to relaunch a three weeks action-packed, fun filled school summer holiday program for 170 disadvantaged children aged 3-13, whose parents can not afford to take on holidays.

Hackney and Haringay, the London boroughs Summer Splash 2! will be servicing, is home to a disproportionate amount of children from poor homes who in receipt of benefits. Parents are unable to afford to take their children on holidays or trips, and with over 70% of children in these boroughs living in overcrowded homes with very little/no garden access, the children have no where to let off steam and enjoy their holidays. They start the new school year not having had a chance to wind down.
Summer Splash 2! will provide 3 weeks of action packed, healthy and safe programs and trips for 170 children who otherwise would be left to their own devices during their holidays. The children will enjoy themselves, let off steam and be refreshed to start the new school year. The programs will focus on healthy living: exercise, food and looking after teeth by incorporating lots of fun exercise programs and activities, food demonstrations, visits from dentists and more.
To provide fun, full day activities for 170 deprived children.

To raise awareness of Healthy Living in a fun, child- friendly way.

Success will be the new positive healthy living changes the children will be encouraged and want to take on- with incentives being offered for every small change made.
Summer Splash 2! will have long lasting impact on 170 children -The children will start of the school year refreshed resulting them to do better academically and raising their performance level significantly.This will in turn boost their confidence, with them seeing that they can achieve. They will make healthier lifestyle choices-resulting in healthier body and minds for 170 deprived children. We will continue to work with the children's schools to track their progress.
Safeguarding the children and young people in our care is central to our work, and all staff and volunteers will have enhanced DBS checks and attend annual Safeguarding Training.
Funders of the projects will receive a detailed report of the day camp at completion to include a list of activities that have taken place.

Hackney and Haringey boasts a mix of multi culture with Hackney having the highest deprivation index of the UK. A high percentage of residents are on mean tested benefits and are living in social housing.

As a grassroots community organisation, we have successfully run various local projects for five years and have developed a close relationship with our users. All our projects were/are oversubscribed and we have received tremendously positive feedback. We have been approached by our users to launch this very important project. We also have our team of dedicated volunteers who are willing to lead on this project.
