ROTA Volunteer Programme

ROTA relies on volunteers who are passionate about strengthening the voice of Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities and those interested in race equality to achieve social justice and human rights. This programme allows volunteers to continue their fantastic work by covering their expenses

  • Need

ROTA is seeking to expand its volunteer programme by involving more young people in its work doing research, event organisation and promotion. This programme will help them improve their skills and develop new ones so as to help their career development. ROTA's policy work is evidence based - everything we do is informed by the views and experiences of BAME communities and organisations that are set up to serve them. We need funding to expand the volunteer programme to enable more of this work

Funding will allow us to increase and improve our volunteer programme. Additional volunteers will increase our research capacity and help us collect evidence through:
    1. In-depth research reaching the most marginalised BAME groups
    2. ROTA based networks and national and regional events, consultations and conferences
    3. ROTA membership of national and regional policy and decision making bodies
    4. Working in partnership with others to identify needs and plan responses to them
