Charity information: Future Skills Training
We are trying to reduce the number of young people left hanging around and being tempted into anti-social behaviour in the vital after school period.
We provide a safe, supportive, fun environment for young people to hang out. We offer a variety of activities including, table tennis, pool, games consoles, art and craft activities, music, cooking and more. We have a team of at least four adults who ensure the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, encouraging the young people to play together, use positive communication and to not display any negative behaviours such as bullying or swearing.
To be a safe and fun place for young people to spend time.
Activities» Provide a warm and secure venue located inside the St Marks Church building.
» We provide multiplayer games on the PS4 and Wii. Table tennis, table football, board games and Pool are avalable. with Beanbags and sofas to chill.
» All young people are registered and sign in every session.
We track attendance and how that correlates to changes we make. During our staff debrief we discuss the mood of the young people and how new things are received by them.
To build supportive relationships with the young people and be positive role models.
Activities» Staff are intentional. And provide emotional and practical support when needed.
» Provide a cheap, home cooked menu that encourages the beneficiaries to engage in conversation with other young people and staff.
» A post session debrief amongst staff that allows us to monitor and follow up any issues or concerns raised by the young people.
We record key information on the conversations staff have with the young people, as well as collating termly feedback forms. Any other relevant anecdotal feedback is also recorded.
At infuse we aim to become a strong pillar in the lives of the young people who grow up with us. We aim to combat loneliness and isolation that young people face in the internet age. We aim to be a positive, non-judgmental, roll-model for young peoples lives that my not already be present.
We see this demonstrated as we record the past attendees who regularly return to check in and update us on how there lives are going.
