  • Need


    We want to end childhood obesity, isolation, poor physical health, and knowledge about the environment that we live and work in. London Borough of Tower Hamlets has the least amount of green spaces per head of population, has higher than average cases of diabetes we are ranked as being in the country’s top 10% for poor health. Along with a lower life expectancy for the Asian community that live and work in the area. When you look at the area that Tower Hamlets takes in, it is even more shocking


    The Farm currently offers a safe and welcoming place to come to and having been an active part of the community for so long we are best placed to understand and work together It is evident that there is an urgent need for this project from within the Tower Hamlets community. The Farm clearly responds to the needs of individuals and groups. Our project addresses the need to engage, educate and support local people.

    Aim 1

    To improve the health and well being of our community, whilst addressing community cohesion


    » Working with Schools, to provide knowledge to young people about the environment they live in and where their food comes from
    » Gardening sessions for all to attend and have access to pesticide free fruit and vegetables
    » Wild Club - environmental Play for young children - learning to play together using the outside as your "playground"
    » Cooking sessions, where one group leads and share the food and recipes with all volunteers and visitors on site
