  • Need

    Need

We are one of the only charities in the UK providing wishes for adults suffering from cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
We have a back log of wishes outstanding due to lack of funding from 2016.

    Solution

We hope to reduce or clear the back log, so that we can concentrate on new wish applications during January 2017.
The more current the application, the more the chance of success whilst the applicant is strong and well enough to enjoy themselves.
This help us create special lasting memories for the families and carers.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To provide a special memory for the children and families of terminally ill adults.

    Activities

» To attempt to provide 20 wishes(average £500 each) during January 2017 with the money raised from this challenge

We receive letters and photographs of the events which we put on our web pages, social media and press releases.

  • Impact

    Impact

We hope to create lasting memories for the families.
We use the local press and media, and our own web site and social media chanels to publicise the hard work and achievements of our volunteers.
The images and stories produced, especially by letters from the participants, are used to further fund raise in years to come.

    Risk

All volunteers and helpers are covered by our protection and safeguarding policies, and we have have full public and employee liability cover as part of our insurance policies.

We try to help wish applicants whilst they are well enough to appreciate the events, and by doing so they contribute to creating lasting memories for their own families.

    Reporting

We plan to produce a video, and photo album to remember the events of the days, and many of the images will appear on our web site.
We are also planning to produce written reports to our other local donors, in recognition of their work and support for this event, and for the foundation as a whole.

  • Background

    Location

    Wherever the wish applicant chooses.
This is entirely at their discretion, and choice, although we stipulate that we will provide wishes outside of the UK.
Wishes tend to be of a fairly simple nature for example a visit to a theatre, football ground or similar.
They are relatively inexpensive, but require a speedy organisation, travel arrangements normally with disabled facilities, and accommodation.

    Beneficiaries

20 wish applicants, their families and carers. This will normally be approximately 100 people.

We have helped in excess of 6000 applicants since our foundation in 2004.

  • Why Us?

    Why Us?

We have been creating special wishes since 2004 and have a very experienced team of providers and researchers.
Application is via our own paperwork, which is checked and verified with a team of medical specialists, so that we can provide the most suitable arrangements for each delicate situation.
We have built up a wide contact list of hotels, sports groups, celebrities, and travel companies who are willing to help, and have the expertise to successfully complete each wish.
