  • Background

High Peak Borough has a population of circa 93,000 dispersed throughout its 208 square miles. Largely rural and semi-rural in composition, inhabitants are spread across small market towns including Glossop (population circa 31,000) and Buxton (population circa 24,000), as well as less populated communities displaying varying degrees of remoteness, from villages to isolated farmsteads. Being a rural area, the lack of facilities often leads to isolation, and transport not being ready available.

Local Parents supporting local parents will build stronger communities. The support offered the families that are feeling affects of coming to terms with disability will decrease thier isolation, and will be given the opportunity to feel more apart of the community. Therefore the whole local communities through out the high peak will benefit from this project ,
