Mevlana Spring School and family learning centre
Mevlana will provide a free Spring School for students having a disadvantaged background and for their parents. The courses will include English & Maths for children to help them improve their school subjects, while their parents will be attending ESOL ; ICT 7 Skills for Life Courses

The project is trying to help the children and ethnic minority families whose first languages are not English in LB of Enfield where child poverty rate is 39.8% percent. And they suffer from language adaptation and proficiency. A significant number of parents are entitled to get a housing benefit and the facilities children have are very limited. Our Project aims to improve the life standards of those families.
Our project will solve the mentioned problem by opening our centre for the children coming from a poor families so that they can have equal opportunities. Also their families will be able to use the new Language, ICT and Life based skills they will learn in caring, teaching and helping their children as well as eventually having a job. It will provide also long term solutions agains poverty.

Success will be demonstrated when more people take part in voluntary activities.
As a result of the project, young people with English as an Additional Language, new arrivals, poor families, urban settings and crowded housing will all benefit in terms of speaking and writing in English confidently, having the skills to find jobs, learning computer literacy and increasing the standards of their lives by learning how to get access to facilities around.
Over subscription to the program is considered to be one of the risks which will be solved through grouping students on different days of the week and open more space for up to 120 kids during summer.
We will submit our project reports at the end of the programme to all relevant people.

London Borough of Enfield which is officially ranked the 64th most deprived local authority district in England (out of 326).
120 disadvantaged children and their families will be benefiting from this project.
Our Society was founded in 2004 by a group of British educators in London with the aim of serving the local community through humility, love and care. We have had great experience in community support since our foundation date and we now have a very good reputation in the borough which will attract a lot of students to our project in summer. We also believe that we have the resources and the qualified team to achieve this project.
