  • Need

Currently there is no Maternity and Child Healthcare facilities in a community of 20,000+ people. There is currently no basics services at all to help the women and children. There have been multiple deaths in recent years due to the lack of basic facilities. Infant mortality rate in Kashmir region is estimated at 62 per 1000 live births while the probability of dying under five years of age is around 96 per 1000 live births.

By building a Maternity Hospital and providing the appropriate clinical staff. We will work in partnership with public, private and voluntary sector organisations (one of which is Hope Welfare Trust) to advance health and well-being of the people in that region.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

Build a Maternity Hospital and begin the provision of Maternity and Child Healthcare services

» Raise enough funds for the Maternity Hospital
» Construct Hospital Building working with local organisations
» Secure staff for hospital from local authorities
» Start Maternity Services from Maternity Hospital

    What success will look like

The completion of the building facilities is a major outcome of success for the project. The start of the provision of basic services will be another major success factor

  • Impact

To save lives, and to give children a healthier start from birth. Increased health awareness amongst the community. We will support the delivery of services from MCH - Prahi (Maternal Child Health Hospital). This hospital will operate 24 hours a day and would be available for access to all women and children in the surrounding areas.

Project management and overall financial transparency. We will appoint a project manager who will be over looking this and ensuring report are sent back to trustees on regular basis.

We would email donors, send regular bulletins, update via social networking sites. We would also hold regular meetings in various towns/cities across the UK and invite the donors to attend and participate.
