  • Need

There is a lack of everyday activities for children with disabilities to take part in. Often children in this situation require closer assistance and supervision than is available in many mainstream activities.

Our Fun Club allows us to fund activities that allow children to have more space for their needs to be met, but to also enjoy the time with their siblings, as well as making new friends with the other participants.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To provide regular activity afternoons for the families who are part of our Fun Club

» We will fund a wide range of regular activities for families to take part in with minimal cost to the families themselves

Direct feedback from the families, particularly the children, involved will be our main indicator of success.

  • Impact

We hope that our Fun Club can grow over time and provide an even broader range of activities to a larger number of families. We also hope that the frequency of our activities will be able to increase over time. Our aim is that this fills a need for the families of disabled children for activity afternoons and they can be a social activity for the families we work with.

One risk is that families could drop out from activities at the last minute after their place has already been paid for by the charity. To try and prevent this, we have introduced a nominal fee of £5 per family as a form of deposit and we have informed the families that if they miss events in this manner without informing us beforehand they will be asked to reimburse the charity of the cost of their non-participation.

We regularly post pictures and updates on our Facebook page ( Any donor is also welcome to email us and we will update them on the previous events and any future events that are planned.

  • Background

We primarily aim to run activities and events at locations throughout West Yorkshire, where the charity is based, although if a good opportunity arises for an activity outside this region, we will gladly explore it. We tend to host our activities at swimming pools in this area as well as Active Soft Play centre and at the dry Ski Slope in Halifax, West Yorkshire.

Families with children with disabilities and complex health needs. These children as well as their siblings are the primary audience of Fulfil the Wish.

  • Why Us?

    Why Us?

We have over 15 years of experience in providing activities for families with disabled children. In this time we have run many successful short trips, including to London and the Bendrigg Trust in Cumbria, as well as our major annual holiday to Disneyland Paris. Our Fun Club is an opportunity to use this experience to expand into less expensive, more frequent trips and activities for the families we work with.
