Housing Private Renting Scheme
To enable disadvantaged adults with learning disabilities who are living in poor housing conditions to live independently in the wide community in their own home of choice by renting privately by paying their bond deposit.
The experience of having a place they call home is a dream far too high to reach for most people with learning disabilities. More adults with learning disabilities are finding it impossible to raise and pay rental bond, which will allow them to live independently in the wider community.

Providing house rental bond assistance and other independent living support to adult with learning disabilities who for long term unemployment, poverty and current welfare reforms can afford to raise a bond to allow them live independently in the wider community.

Activities» • Provide supported living supports • Support to apply for housing benefit and council tax benefit

» • Run a drop in advice sessions • Provide easy to read and to understand information on the scheme and housing matters

• Increase in number of service user living independently

• Better informed users on housing matters
• Increase in uptake of Support to sustain tenancy and home maintenance
Reports will be made available to donor as required by email or post. Mandatory participation reports will be sent to donors at the end of each year of the project. The reports will be accompanied by pictures, links to any video / visual updates

The project is based in Bexley borough but outreaching to Barking and Dagenham, Greenwich, Hackney, Lambeth, Lewisham, Newham, Southwark, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.
