Nepal Earthquake Emergency Appeal
RedR is responding to the devastation caused by the Nepal Earthquake. Please help RedR to assess and respond to this humanitarian emergency

The 7.8 magnitude quake, which struck close to Kathmandu late in the morning of Saturday 25th April, has killed more than 3,600 people in the Nepalese capital, as well as the Gorkha and Lamjun districts.
As search and rescue work continues in more remote regions of those districts, it is feared that the death toll will rise. More than 6,500 people were injured in the earthquake – the most powerful to strike Nepal in more than 80 years.
Our Members on the ground assisting with emergency shelter, water and sanitation and other life saving activities. We have been conducting a needs assessment in the area which is highlighting a skills gaps in some technical areas. RedR will be providing training and mentoring to the NGOs in the region to address this. RedR's response will not only help Nepal recover from this devastating disaster, but will build the capacity and resilience of the country long-term.

Monitoring and evaluation on the activities we provide
Capacity building in Nepal so that skills learnt for this emergency are kept in country to be used should another emergency strike this region.
Working in a disaster zone carries obvious risk but RedR has over 30 years of experience working in these types of situations.
We will provide regular updates by email or letter to donors until the project is complete
