  • Need

Young women in our most disadvantaged communities can be drawn into violent lifestyles through lacking the emotional support, family structure and leadership, and skills required to make informed and healthy life choices. We are working hard to challenge these girls' notions that they feel they have no alternative other than to turn to violence, substance abuse and/or a life of crime including domestic violence, sexual abuse, involvement in gun and knife crime or other criminal activities.

This project will create opportunities for disadvantaged girls to experience university life in areas of study that they have an interest in. This will raise their aspirations, give them the opportunity to learn new skills and provide new experiences. With an increase in aspirations, increase the number of disadvantaged girls that want to stay on in education to attain GCSEs and A-Levels.
