Charity information: Dartford & Crayford Unit 99 Of The Sea Cadet Corps
The Trustees of Dartford & Crayford Sea Cadets are proactive in strengthening our current financial difficulties and to help us build on our new start in partnership with our local authority which has the foresight to see that we are committed to turning our recent bad fortunes around and building upon what we have achieved in such a short space of time, and can see for themselves our potential strengths and opportunities.
Our target is to become within the next 12- 18 months self financing by means of finding new innovative ways of obtaining an income from our unique venue setting and facilities. Already we have been approached by another local youth group to hire part of our units outbuildings for its own use thus providing us with some working capital which would go towards our core running costs and enable us to pay for urgent repairs that have so far eluded our ability to carryout due to funding restraints.
To build upon our recent successes in fundraising that will safeguard our Sea Cadet Units future.
Activities» To continue to expand upon our fundraising activities & to think outside of the box at new methods of raising funds for our units existence & future.
We will be able to demonstrate our success's by the achievements made by our cadets in obtaining meritorious badges & certifications gained from attending sea cadet corps. courses.
Our project will we feel certain provide our unit with the funding and resources in place to continue long in to the future of providing the unique Sea Cadet Experience to future generations of local youth aged 10-18 from Dartford & Crayford and its surrounding areas of Wilmington, Swanley, Greenhithe, Swanscombe, Longfields, Horton Kirby, Hawley and Stone in Kent.
There are always risks with any fundraising events that any charity undertakes
but we are confident, through other forms of proactive fundraising methods we are embarking on at the same time like grant funding applications to trusts and foundations that will reduce if not hopefully eliminate as many of the risks that may occur along the way.
We will report to donors via updates to our website and Facebook and other social media sites and through emails and local press releases.
