  • Need

The Ebola virus is killing more people every day and is in danger of spiraling out of control. Treating people is vital if lives are to be saved, but stopping people from getting it in the first place is important to stop the spread - and stop the crisis. Oxfam's focus is on giving people at risk the means to protect themselves

Oxfam's work focuses on stopping the spread of the virus. We are supporting the medical response by providing clean water, sanitation and protective kit. We are working with a network of health workers who are reaching into communities and going door-to-door to explain how people to avoid infection, spot symptoms, and seek treatment. And we're using local radio to disseminate these messages even more widely. We plan to reach almost 3 million people in Sierra Leone and Liberia with our porgramme
