  • Need

There are millions of children around the world who are living in conditions that we couldn't imagine. Many are orphans, that Samaritans Purse continue to support through many relief projects. Operation Christmas Child gives over 1 million children a year around the world the opportunity to receive a gift from someone they'll never meet at Christmas time. For most of the children, its the first present they have ever received, and all in a shoebox!!

We continue to support Operation Christmas Child, providing shoeboxes filled with goodies for children aged: 2-4, 5-9 and 10-14. We have a team of volunteers currently knitting, fundraising and haggling with market traders to get the best deals

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To raise enough to fill, wrap and post 150 boxes and support Samaritans Purse international campaign

» Fundraise, haggle with market traders, and make the tea for our determined group of knitters!!

    What success will look like

Successfully reaching our fundraising target and communicating this with all donors and volunteers

    Aim 2

Use the project as a way of further engaging with Chorley's youth group

» Allowing the youth group to take a more proactive role with the project from start to finish - including planning, development and project completion

    What success will look like

Ensuring the youth group keep the congregation up to date with their developments and present to all donors and volunteers as part of the project completion wrap up

    Aim 3

Use the project as a way of further engaging with the local community

» Advertising our shoebox campaign locally and encouraging locals to join the volunteers. With us they can learn about the project, & how to be involved
