Adult volunteer project
Come and be a volunteer at our charity! We need behind the scenes volunteers and also ones who want to assist in our youth projects.
We welcome volunteers throughout the year
Charity information: JusB Ltd
JusB as a whole is helping young people who come to us from a range of backgrounds. Some have complex issues, others an outlet to make the most of what they can offer their communities.
In terms of our volunteers, there is a need for extra help in the office and with the young people.
Volunteers help JusB remain a community organisation. They enable us to do more than we can as a predominantly part time staff group.
To provide extra support to young people through volunteers
Activities» -Volunteer recruitment happens throughout the year through word of mouth, websites and more. -Volunteer inductions and training are ongoing
What success will look like
Debriefs after each session encourage volunteers to note the support that young people are given. One of our project volunteers is a trustee and can report on the volunteer help.
To provide extra support for the staff of JusB
Activities» As above.
What success will look like
Various. For example the Fundraiser's report to trustees draws out the benefits of volunteers.
JusB as a whole is working towards outputs, outcome and impact and the use of volunteers is part of this.
Risks around things like Child Protection and Safeguarding are dealt with through regularly updating our policies to check that they are being implemented. Staff regularly attend training and the volunteer induction covers this and other risks.
We are happy to report to donors through sending our annual accounts. We are happy to report in any reasonable way but would like to know what the report should include at the beginning of the relationship with the donor so that we can record all that we need to.

JusB is based in north Bromley, bordering Croydon and Lewisham.
Young people are referred to us from the mental health team, social services, youth offending team, other charities, schools and more. This gives an idea of our beneficiaries. Young people may need help with problems at home or at school. There may be specific issues or a complex mixture.
For some of our young people we provide outlets for them making change in their community through volunteering or joining local boards (eg Bromley Youth Panel or the council housing board).
Having worked in the area for ten years we have a depth of experience in dealing with young people, especially those who other agencies may be unable to help. Even when young people have a mixture of issues and we have to help them access specialist help, we continue to remain in contact with them. This holistic care is lacking elsewhere but essential if young people aren't to feel that they are being fobbed off.
