GAZA CRISIS APPEAL
The escalation in the conflict between Israel and Hamas has caused the humanitarian situation in Gaza to reach crisis point.
Services in Gaza were severely stretched before the conflict, and 80% of the population depended on UN food aid. There is now massive unmet humanitarian need in Gaza.

DISASTERS EMERGENCY COMMITTEE
Hundreds of thousands of people have fled their homes and are in desperate need of food, water, shelter and medical care. Over 200,000 may be displaced and urgently need food aid; 1.5 million people have no or very limited access to water or sanitation; and over 65,000 people are now homeless after their homes were severely damaged or destroyed.
The health system in Gaza is on the verge of collapse, with 24 health facilities damaged and acute shortages of medicines and medical supplies.
DEC member agencies will provide medical supplies, mobile clinics, food aid and water supplies.
Our member agencies aim to respond and help those affected re-build their lives.
Activities» Our member agencies will provide vital, emergency aid.
Success will be aiding the most vulnerable survivors by providing vital shelter, food, water and medicine. Then, in the longer term, helping to rebuild communities and livelihoods.
DEC member agencies have been working in conflict zones for decades. We undertake careful security assessments, constantly monitor risks and seek the acceptance of the communities we try to help. We work with carefully vetted and monitored local partners.
