Books and Magazines into Food Banks in Devon

Based on the success of literacy charities Booktrust in the UK & Magazine Literacy in the USA we have begun an initiative to get books, in particular children's books, and magazines into Food Banks in Devon for distribution to those who rely on Food Banks and who, have no money for reading material

    A lack of reading material for people in Devon who are reliant on Food Banks. This particularly applies to those with children who lack books and magazines for them.


    By distributing books and magazines through local Food Banks.

    To get books and magazines into the hands of Food Bank clients in Devon.


    » Distribution of Books and magazines through local Food Banks in Devon.
    » Recruitment of volunteers to help with sorting and distributing books and magazines to Food Banks and to help us with liaison with local Food Banks.

    What success will look like

    Through feedback from Food Bank volunteers and Food Bank clients.

    Food Bank clients will have far better access to reading material for themselves and their children.


    We do not see any real risks to this project.
