‘Kick Arts’ is a ground-breaking 6-month flexi-school arts project, which is designed to help young people who are not attending school to re-engage with education through creative means.
Invariably, there is a story behind a child refusing to go to school. Children who have taken part in Kick Arts in the past have faced a range of challenges including poverty, bullying, family breakdown, living in the care system, special educational needs such as autism and Asperger’s Syndrome, mental health issues such as depression and eating disorders, and advanced antisocial behavioural problems.
Kick Arts identifies the individual learning styles of each young person taking part and inspires learning, delivered by specially trained artists, through a range of art forms. Participants are supported to lead their own learning and pass their knowledge on to others, improving confidence and self-esteem.
