Funding 2 therapist for a year
Helen Rollason Cancer Charity is hoping to raise £6,000 to fund 2 new therapist for a year, one at our support centre in North Middlesex University and one at our Essex support centre. This will allow the centres to be able to support even more people living with cancer, and reduce waiting periods.

Helen Rollason Heal Cancer Charity Limited
Currently our support centres in both Essex and London would benefit from the help of an additional therapist. Our centre in North Middlesex University is taking 190 appointments a month; however due to the high demand there is a 2/3 week back log between each appointment and we are desperately in need of additional therapists to reduce this. While Rochelle House in Chelmsford has over 300 appointments a month, which we could increase with an additional therapist and support more people.
By being able to fund additional therapists, we will be able to reduce the amount of time people are waiting for an appointment. It will also allow us to continue to work towards our vision, that anyone touched by cancer should be able to have access to the award-winning care that we offer, as we would be able to support more people.
To provide more people with holistic therapies in conjunction with conventional medicine.
Activities» We will continue to market and promote this project to our supporters and involve the local community.
Success will be by being able to reduce the wait time between patients appointments and an increase in the amount of patients we are seeing in a month.
The long term success will allow more people to use our services and have more appointments. This will allow more people to become aware of the charity, and help to promote our services. Success will be monitored by regular updates from the support centre with the amount of appointments they are making, and the length of time patients have to wait between each appointment.
There is a risk that there could be a drop in the amount of people who use our support centre, decreasing the amount of appointments needed each month. We have dealt with this by building links and relationships with the oncology unit in North Middlesex University Hospital where the support centre is based, they tell patients about our centre. It is unlikely there will be a drop in the amount of people using our services as unfortunately people are still getting diagnosed with cancer everyday.
Donors to this project will receive monthly email updates on the support centres, including how many appointments have been made and the amount of time people are waiting between each appointment. They will also be regularly invited to the centres, and be informed of any necessary changes.

Our centres is based in North Middlesex University Hospital Edmonton London and Chelmsford Essex. Edmonton has a population 96,493 people, North Middlesex University Hospital however covers a much broader area then just Edmonton, with people coming from all around East London, Essex and Middlesex as it is one of the few hospitals in this area with a radiotherapy unit.
While Chelmsford has a population of 168,310 people, once again though our support centre supports people all over Essex.
Anyone who is living with any type of cancer at any stage, will benefit from this project as we will be able to provide more of our award winning free services to them with additional therapists at the centres.
Helen Rollason Cancer Charity is proud to say it has successfully been supporting cancer patients, their family and friends through our network of cancer support centres for 15 years. In a relaxing environment we are able to give patients complementary therapies such as messages and reflexology.
There are still many more people who would benefit from our services that we are unable to support and we must continue to grow to be able to make sure everyone receives this amazing support.
