Keep on the Move
HAD's unique 24 hour Accessible Transport Service takes older and disabled people to work, medical appointments, social, leisure and holiday trips wherever and whenever they want.
But our fleet of specially converted vehicles is getting old and we need a new vehicle.

Charity information: Hertfordshire Action on Disability
Transporting older and disabled people by wheelchair accessible transport in a dignified, friendly and professional manner is a special skill.
HAD's team of drivers have been helping people in Hertfordshire and beyond achieve their independence for many years and want to continue to do so.
A new transport vehicle will help HAD get local people to work and also fulfill important medical and leisure commitments for years to come. We've got the staff, infrastructure and experience to do this, now we need a new vehicle.
To transport older and disabled people comfortably and safely wherever and whenever they want
Activities» By buying a new fully accessible transport vehicle to update our ageing fleet.
What success will look like
We will use specific case studies incorporating customer quotes and feedback. These will be featured, with the customers permission, on our website and in our publications.
The new vehicle will help solve the age-old problem of getting an increasing number of older and disabled people to work and to maintain their independence and financial security and wellbeing.
No foreseeable risks. Our Transport Manager and his team of drivers have a great deal of experience running this much-needed service.

The transport vehicle will be based at HAD's Woodside Centre HQ but will travel throughout Hertfordshire and beyond. When transporting customers to holiday destinations, destinations will include all the country's major airports for those holidaying abroad and anywhere in the country for those holidaying in the UK.
As well as an ageing population and those people with physical and learning disabilities, HAD's transport service relieves some of the pressure of the country's roads and public transport network.
The charity's Accessible 24 hour Transport Service is unique - we believe it is the only one of its kind in the country. It provides safe, reliable and friendly wheelchair accessible transport. All HAD's drivers are experienced and personable and immediately recognisable in their uniforms.
