  • Need

Mozambique is in desperate need of more skilled workers. Only 8% of high school aged children get the chance for a secondary education and very few of those get the chance to go on to a vocational training centre.

Maninga is working with Tariro - a Christian Technical Training Centre which trains students in carpentry & furniture making, metal work and welding, automotive mechanics or agriculture. This project is seeking to develop the Automotive Mechanics course further to give more room and better facilities for the students to enable more to study.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

Provide more hard standing and space for the students to study on the Automotive Mechanics course.

» Provide the funds to enable this to happen

Maninga is working closely with Tariro to report back on the success of the students.

    Aim 2

Provide a storeroom for equipment for the Automotive mechanics course

» Provide funds to enable this to happen

Maninga is working closely with Tariro to report back on the success of the students.

  • Impact

This is a very popular course and therefore more space and better facilities will enable more students to learn in the future.

The is a small risk that the materials needed to build this part of the project may not be available locally. But we are satisfied that our local partners - Tariro have enough local knowledge to source them from elsewhere.

Maninga provides regular newsletters and reports to donors as it works very closely with its partner Tariro to hear news of the projects.
