Helping grant wishes
Granting a magical wish to a desperately ill child gives them and their family memories to treasure - whatever the future may hold.
Charity information: Make-A-Wish Foundation UK
When a child has a life-threatening condition it has a huge impact, both on the child and their family. Treatment may take place at specialist centres far away from home. The child may have to endure painful treatment - that can sometimes make them feel as ill as the condition they are fighting.
It can be a very traumatic time for siblings too - with mum or dad often having to spend time in hospital.
And all the while, an uncertain future hangs over the whole family.
While medical professionals will be doing everything they can for the child, together there is something we can do to make a difference.
Make-A-Wish Foundation UK grants magical wishes to children and young people fighting life-threatening conditions.
A wish allows a family to spend precious time together, creating happy memories to treasure forever - whatever the future may hold.
Every year we help hundreds of children. Through this project we hope to be able to fund 3 wishes.
Activities» We will grant a wish to every eligible child that turns to us.
What success will look like
We will have granted wishes to the many children who have turned to us.
Wishes will give our children and their families memories to treasure forever - whatever the future may hold. Our children experience an improved quality of life and mental well-being following their wish. And some will even experience an improvement in physical symptoms.
The main risk is that we will not receive enough donations. We carry reserves should there be any shortfall.
Our donors will receive our newsletter three times a year.
