  • Need

We are addressing the lack in provision of inclusive interactive theatre and arts activities in Sussex for children and young people with complex additional needs to enjoy with their families.
We provide accessible immersive theatre, multimedia film events and play skills workshops for the whole family to enjoy. Otherworld provides a regular multimedia arts service for those that are often marginalised or excluded from mainstream activities.

The themed and interactive installation and our specialist facilitators create and an encouraging and stimulating environment for our visitors to enjoy and explore that is truly accessible.

We believe that this programme can produce significant social, emotional and participatory beneficial outcomes for a highly marginalised group of young people and families

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To provide a second year of Otherworld our inclusive and accessible arts programme

» We need to raise match funding for our project and secure earmarked funding from the Big Lottery. This will go towards specialist facilitation fees.

    What success will look like

We have developed and run an extensive evaluation programme and visitors to Otherworld leave us an evaluation form after each visit. participant input is key to this.

    Aim 2

Rebuild of our multisensory and immersive themed environment with a new theme - Beneath the Waves.

» We need to raise enough money to be able to afford materials and labour to rebuild and create Otherworld ‘Beneath the Waves’.

    What success will look like

Our touring reactive and immersive environment will be open to everyone to come and experience. We will also show regular updates on our facebook page - Otherworld.

  • Impact

Long term benefits will include increased participation and community inclusion, increased confidence and self-esteem for participants, reduced isolation and improved family dynamics.

We have some funding in place for the 2nd year but need to obtain all our match funding or we will not receive the funds earmarked for us by The Big Lottery and the project will end.

After having run year 1 successfully we have comprehensive structures and procedures in lace to deal with any risks such as risk assessments, enhanced outreach programmes etc

donors will be able to keep up to date with Otherworld on our facebook page and website.

We will also provide a detailed evaluation at the end of year 2 which will be available to donors on request.
