  • Need

    Fight rural poverty and rural exodus in Cambodia by:
    - addressing a lack of education in the countryside
    - promoting sustainable farming techniques
    - addressing a lack of social capital in the countryside
    - promoting rural entrepreneurship.

    We will work in 3 stages:
    Stage 1 - promote sustainable Food&Agriculture education in State schools;
    Stage 2 - develop vocational training;
    Stage 3 - incubate Food&Agriculture or rural social enterprises for young entrepreneurs.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

    Fight rural poverty

    » Promote sustainable agricultural techniques
    » Help foster social capital and rural entrepreneurship

    What success will look like

    Assess the impact of our programmes on the target population, based on improved knowledge / increased household revenues / improved nutrition.

    Aim 2

    Fight rural exodus

    » Strengthen the bonds between rural communities

    What success will look like

    Assess the impact of our programmes on the target population, based on how many social entrepreneurs we manage to help, young farmers we help, communities we support & strengthen.

  • Impact

    The transfer of knowledge is key and we plan not just to train young farmers but also school teachers. We will demonstrate the success of this project by monitoring how many children are involved in our education projects, how sustainable these projects are and how many social enterprises are eventually incubated.

    The main risk is the implementation risk and we are addressing it by partnering up with a local sustainable agriculture NGO with excellent track record.

    Adverse weather conditions are also an issue and we have budgeted for that.

    Twice a year. We have developed our own monitoring & evaluation and impact assessment framework.

  • Why Us?

    Why Us?

    Since late 2012, we have been running a pilot project involving 50 students. It was very successful in terms of knowledge transfer, production of rice and vegetables, improved seeding, stronger community bonds and also land value appreciation.
