Dance and Alzheimers

Dance is proving to be very effective in improving the quality of life of people with Alzheimers.

Cheshire Dance leads activity that is highly responsive to individual needs within group sessions and we are recognised by Local Authorities, Alzheimers UK and AGE UK for this work.

    Dance helps to improve physical and mental health in a fun and social environment. Cheshire Dance are a person-centred organisation where there is no right or wrong way to dance.

    To help alleviate the symptoms of Alzheimers, demonstrated by personal, family and carer testimony


    Person-centred practice ensures individual needs are addressed.
    Risk assessment of activities and spaces are conducted with risks mitigated.
    All staff fully trained in safeguarding, inclusive practice and working with people with Alzheimers

    Why Us?

    Cheshire Dance has a long history of working in community contexts addressing inequalities of opportunity. More recently it has formed a partnership with Alzheimers UK to deliver more dance activity to this client group. Cheshire Dance is recognised by Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East local authorities and is a National Portfolio client of Arts Council England
