Need
Need
The children who will benefit from the grant live in rural villages in Bath & NE Somerset where we know there are low-income isolated families. This grant will help to address social inclusion by bringing children and young people together. The children we support are generally disadvantaged by a lack of access to transport and community facilities. As a result they suffer from a lack of opportunity to meet other children so are often lacking in social skills and emotional development.
Solution
The playbus provides a base where community provision is poor. Qualified, experienced playworkers will facilitate quality play opportunities which will give local children a chance to play together and make friends. They will have the chance to learn new skills, participate in sports and games, create and play together, mainly outside.
All activities are freely chosen and child-led. -
