All I Want For Christmas mobility equipment appeal

As Christmas approaches we want to spread the festive feeling across the country to disabled children who have come to us for help. Nine very special disabled children all desperately need their Christmas wishes to come true. Each little one requires an item of bespoke mobility equipment..

    Need

Three year old Darcey has Spina Bifida and cant walk unaided. Five year old Harri has Cerebral Palsy and uses a wheelchair all the time. Alfie is almost three and Cerebral Palsy and Chronic Lung Disease. We are fundraising for the perfect Christmas gift for these and six other children - a life-changing and custom built wheelchair, buggy or trike which will improve their health and give them a new sense of freedom.

    Solution

Your generous donations will help us to buy vital and life-changing mobility equipment for these little ones. Darcey will be able to have some of the fun other little girls have. Alfie will be able to strengthen his leg muscles and Harri will be able to get out and about with his family.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To let disabled children have some much needed freedom and independence

    Activities

» By providing specialist adapted mobility equipment.

Access to equipment that allows a disabled child to walk unaided, cycle or use a powered wheelchair will ensure a positive and independent lifestyle

    Aim 2

To improve the health and wellbeing of disabled children

    Activities

» By providing equipment that will ease their pain, improve posture and exercise and strengthen their muscles.

Bespoke mobility equipment will relieve pain, improve posture and support organs and limbs correctly.

    Aim 3

To offer a more fulfilling life for disabled children - to put a smile on their faces

    Activities

» By providing an item of equipment that will allow them to play or socialise, sometimes for the first time

Getting around independently or playing with friends and family makes a real difference to a disabled child's quality of life and relieves some of the pressure felt by carers

  • Impact

    Impact

Improved movement, independence, access to opportunity and a better quality of life are just some of the impacts of receiving bespoke mobility equipment

    Risk

If we cannot raise the funds required for the 9 children we are trying to help via this appeal they will remain on our waiting list until we do.

    Reporting

At Action For Kids we always send our donors and personalised thank you letters and cards made by the children and young people they support. We will update them with regular news about our beneficiaries and services.

There are things Alfie wants to do but sadly can’t. He loves to be outside and the trike will give him the freedom to finally play with other children
