  • Need

We currently do not have any aqua therapy facility for our residents and service users. Many of the children and adults that we care for have complex and life limiting conditions which means land based exercise is not always easy or possible. Exercise is vital for our clients wellbeing and it is not always possible to visit other venues for this type of service, there is also a lack of facilities which could cater for our clients needs.

By building the Hydrotherapy Centre onto the back of the existing main house we will create an easily accessible on site aqua therapy facility that will be available to all of our residents and service users. Our team of physiotherapists will be able to provide supervised aqua therapy sessions to meet the clients requirements with little or no travel involved. The building will also be fitted with an electronic ceiling hoist and tracking system so that clients can easily access the water.

  • Aims

    Aim 1

To provide children and adults with disabilities with a hydrotherapy pool in which to exercise.

» Make two targeted appeals to members of the general public, companies, and supporters.
» Hold a series of fundraising events.
» Make applications to trusts whose criteria fits our project.

By monitoring the number of clients using the pool and the benefits it has to them as individuals.

  • Impact

Strode Park Foundation will have a permanent hydrotherapy facility which will benefit everyone that comes to use our facilities.

Planning permission has been submitted but possibly could not be granted. We could revise our plans to fit the councils requirements.

The required amount of funding may not be raised in time therefore we would extend the deadline for completion of the project.

We would send a personal thank you to all donors and when the project has been completed report to all major donors. We will also make an announcement on our website, social media, local press etc.

  • Background

Strode Park Foundation is set in the village of Herne just outside Herne Bay in Kent. We work closely with the local community engaging with schools and groups etc providing opportunities to work together at events, fundraising and providing volunteering opportunities. We run an open air theatre in the summer months to provide affordable family entertainment for the local community with all profits going to the charity.

Over 200 of our current service users could benefit from this project possibly more if we are able to open up accessibility to children and adults with disabilities in the wider community.

  • Why Us?

    Why Us?

We are already providing a variety of care services for children and adults with disabilities. Our therapists already provide a range of physio/rehabilitation therapies and programmes. The Hydrotherapy Centre will be an important extension of our services which already includes a physiotherapy gym.
